From our earliest pieces to the gradual expansion of our practice, the same principles have remained at the heart of everything we do. Our materials are chosen in close collaboration with local producers, factories and craftspeople in Osaka and across Japan. Their knowledge of traditional textiles and techniques shapes the fundament our garments as well as our mission from the outset as much as our own team does, and we make the effort of visiting every one of our potential and existing partners regularly as to exchange opinions and guarantee the highest quality garments possible. Attention rests on how a fabric falls, how it feels against the skin and how it holds up through repeated and everyday wear amongst others. Furthermore, local artists and creatives contribute through collaborations that bring their own practices and perspectives into the designs.

Stille offers a wardrobe for a post-apocalyptic world. Simple forms, unobtrusive details and elegant silhouettes, grounded in the demands of everyday life. Clothing intended to accompany and develop alongside its wearer for years, becoming familiar through movement and use, until wearing it feels instinctive.
